A one-time bad girl comes home to small-town Oregon in the first in a sexy, heartfelt new series from USA TODAY bestselling author Maisey Yates…

Sadie Miller isn’t expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straight-laced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her like she’s the same teenage hoodlum who fled town ten years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man, but to a B and B. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw…

Eli works too hard to let a blonde ball of trouble mess up his town. But keeping an eye on Sadie makes it tough to keep his hands off her. And if she’s so wrong for him, why does being with her feel so right?

about Maisey || USA Today Bestselling author Maisey Yates lives in rural Oregon with her three children and her husband, whose chiseled jaw and arresting features continue to make her swoon. She feels the epic trek she takes several times a day from her office to her coffee maker is a true example of her pioneer spirit.

In 2009, at the age of twenty-three Maisey sold her first book. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of sexy alpha males and happily ever afters, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Maisey divides her writing time between dark, passionate category romances set just about everywhere on earth and light sexy contemporary romances set practically in her back yard. She believes that she clearly has the best job in the world.

Sadie Miller has a rock solid defense mechanism --

Sarcasm.

She deals in sarcasm and then some.

Then there's Deputy Eli Garrett, who needs a lesson in letting go. The man is a control freak -- but he has his reasons. His entire life, things were disrupted. He was the one to keep everything together. Control is Eli's middle name; he takes control by protecting his family, his town. He keeps the wayward kids in line, or at least tries.

The man almost has a stroke when his sister eats pizza over the counter and drips sauce on it --

Like I said, control. Order. That is Eli.

And one thing he doesn't have whenever Sadie is around is control.

These two bicker at every turn.

EVERY. Yes, every turn. It's not even necessarily fun bickering. It's just bickering.

When Sadie left town years ago, it was after Eli arrested her -- she was a seventeen year old punk of a kid who was dealing with things at home. In an accident, she set a barn on fire and in turn got herself arrested. But what she's kept to herself all these years is that she has just a little bit of hate for Eli for that night.

No, not for arresting her.

But for the fact that man lives to protect people, and that night all she really needed was protecting, because after her bastard father took her home, her life was changed.

From that day forward, Sadie was always on the move, moving until she was somewhere she felt she belonged.

Unfortunately, that place never comes.

I thought these two were cute in their own little way. I was annoyed as all get out with them, let me just put that out there. Both are hard-headed and stubborn, and it was like pulling teeth to get either to open up just a fraction, but I think her messy and his control even out to a perfect medium in the end.

Kate's young yet, but I'm sure when her story comes, she'll give her man some hell.

But the story I really want to read?

Connor's.

The man is broken in any and every way possible, and I just want to see (err, read) the man smile.
