Her British Stepbrother, book 2

Tristan is a man who knows what he wants. And he wants Kat in his bed. All he has to do is convince her they belong together . . .

Kat knows the connection she and Tristan share is special. Her British bad boy is too much of everything: too hot, too arrogant, too irresistible to stay away from. He's her addiction and one night with him isn't enough.

That's what hurts the most. They can't date, can't be a normal couple, not when their parents are getting married. Because now that she knows he's going to be her stepbrother, no one can ever find out what they've done . . .

Part 2 in the Her British Stepbrother series.

These two...

When we left off, Kat just learned her new relationship to Tristan, and it certainly has her reeling. Tristan, though, shows true colors right off the bat with how badly he wants to fight for them -- something that gave him major points from me. It wasn't "lovers turned step siblings" so much as two people who had amazing chemistry before and just learned that they'd be sharing their parents. Kat, though, is terrified of outside perception and tries to put the brakes on.

This second part was written well. There wasn't anything that made me cross-eyed or question anything, but on the same token, I wasn't left overwhelmed, either. The characterization was certainly consistent, and I found myself liking Tristan more and more through the pages. However, I generally find middle books in trilogies or three-part serials to be underwhelming, so we'll chalk it up to just that. It's that epilogue reader in me -- without the ability to see how it ends, I feel like I'm just going through the motions ;)

As Kat is battling perceptions, Tristan is battling her. Sure, he has his own fears and worries about each new revelation, but it's his Kat that he wants -- and I'm hoping the next book comes soon so my epilogue reader heart can finally be happy.
