{ review } .

In my review of NOWHERE TO HIDE, I mentioned that this little prequel takes place between chapters one and two of the first book in this Delos series. While it's not entirely necessary to read, I think it gives the reader more insight into Lia -- and just what a tough broad she is.

This story is Lia's terror. This story is her running and trying to escape, and the terror everything entails. In this small blip in Lindsay McKenna's writing, we do get a ton of information -- so much so that it is definitely info-dumping, and at times thoughts and dialogue held too much information -- but we also see Lindsay McKenna's strength in writing suspense. You can feel Lia's terror; you can hear her heart racing; you find yourself willing her to take one way instead of the other.

After reading this, you're going to want to read (or re-read!) NOWHERE TO HIDE just to continue Lia's journey.
