Jackie Davenport will try anything once, especially in the bedroom. Anything except falling in love. She lives a carefree existence packed full of fun, but free from emotional entanglements and that’s just how she wants to keep it. When she meets the new police officer in town, she’s unable to deny the connection between them. His over confidence and bullish ways grate on her…still she can’t help but find herself falling into his bed AND falling for him.

Jamie McTavish is man enough to admit that he probably didn’t make the best first impression when he met the 911 Operator. That doesn’t mean there isn’t still sizzling sexual tension between them. He’s a man of action and he’s not content to sit on the sidelines until Jackie works out her issues. But trying to tame this tiger might be too big of a challenge for even him.

I have a couple of book boyfriends; we all do, right? I even have a number of favorite couples... even though the list is always growing (ooh, another category for the FAVORITE OF {year} list...).

Well, we have some new additions to those lists: Jamie McTavish, and the coupling of Jamie and Jackie.

These two... Oh my, these two...

From the beginning, you just know Jackie's going to be a spitfire. I loved that while she expected the cop who pulled her over to know who she was (she did, after all, know who he was), she didn't exploit her position in the field and left the figuring out up to him -- to which I loved the crap Jamie got from his co-workers.

I realize the synopsis warns you of it, but my goodness, Jamie has confidence in spades -- but Jackie takes him down a peg or two (or ten or twenty toward the end). He knows what he wants and he knows to go after it -- even if he has to force the issue on Jackie.

There was no denying the chemistry between Jackie and Jamie, but Jackie has her rules and she has decent reasons for said rules -- and I think Jamie was the correct guy to try and get her to break down her walls and let her heart open to him.

Elisabeth Grace wrote Jackie and Jamie's story in such a great way. This was one of those books that, every so often, I stumble upon, that needs to be read all of the time -- at the grocery store, waiting in line to pay for said groceries, at super long traffic lights, walking into my apartment, walking into work... Yeah, you get the idea. My nose was in this book with hardly any time to come up for air. I am definitely going back to read Chloe and Max's story (volume one is free! and the entire serial is $3.99).

AND! This book may possibly have my most favorite, every-day-people, totally-realistic proposal (even though Molly McLain's CAN'T RESIST HIM is pretty every-day-people, totally-realistic, loved-it-too)...
