{ review } .
After the disappearance of Danny, the band Thrashtag decided to 'take a break'. Charlie, who was the band's vocalist and lyricist, finds himself in a solo gig position -- but it's the past, things that weigh on his mind, and partially fear, that has him wanting to be anywhere but there.
Charlie would rather be in the country and away from the life he finds himself in... All while Evelyn is fighting her way out of the country and finds herself in the city with a girl she met online, a girl who becomes a great friend to her. And it is because of Sharlo that Evelyn finds herself at the concert of Thrashtag front-runner, Charlie Walker, as he performs as a solo artist.
Just a locking of eyes, and Charlie wants to find the brunette from the front row, and he certainly fights to find her.
This book was extremely well written -- from the chemistry, to the secrets that Charlie holds. Add to that a nice line of suspense, a line that will encompass much of the story as well as bring light to many of the readers' questions, and the book was a page-turner and one I didn't want to put down. Oh, and I loved that Charlie called Evelyn Freckles, especially when it would almost slip out when he should be calling her Evelyn.
I really enjoyed this book from Jennifer Ann, and wish that I'd given myself more time to read and savor the relationship that was Charlie and Evelyn. This was my first Jennifer Ann book, and it certainly will not be my last. I'm excited to see what Kendall she'll be taking on next (James?), all while hoping we get more glimpses into the life of Charlie and Evelyn.
