After working hard all day creating his beautiful metal sculptures, sinfully sexy Hunter Lacroux likes to unwind with a hot, sexy babe–or two. But after spending a handful of naughty nights with seductive and beautiful Jana Garner, the woman who challenges everything he does and says, Hunter wants more.As a dancer, boxer, actress, and waitress, Jana is tough, organized, and as dedicated as she is committed. She has to be to maintain her crazy schedule. But when it comes to men, Jana’s had a string of bad relationships, and there’s only thing she’ll commit to–not committing.White-hot passion ignites every time Jana and Hunter are together, but the closer Hunter gets, the faster Jana runs. When Hunter lays on the charm, Jana throws out a challenge she’s sure he can’t meet, and Hunter steps up to the plate, forcing her to face her hurtful past or let go of him forever.

{ review } .
I've said it again and again with Melissa Foster, and I won't hesitate to say it again -- she writes good romance. She does the contemporary genre well, and her characters always jump from the pages. Yet again, we're brought to Seaside and the gang -- the ever loving 'chunky-dunking' gang -- and we get to witness as Hunter Lacroux finds a reason to settle with smart mouthed, keeps him on his toes, never hesitates to back-talk, Jana Garner.
Jana and Hunter were a fun couple. Neither really has the desire to settle down, but before either really realizes it, the only one either of them has been hooking up with for the past year was the, well... one another. In a weird sort of way, they were in a relationship, and they didn't know it. Hunter is driven crazy by Jana and her mouth, and Jana can't stand Hunter's playboy ways. But between the sheets, they're combustible. I loved Hunter and his attempt to learn about romance. I even enjoyed as he watched his settled friends and tried to figure out what it was that had them all making faces at one another.
The one character that drove me continually crazy was Clark. However, I found that his complaining helped Hunter see what a true relationship entailed -- and that as much as Clark complained, there was no way their other friends didn't have their own rough patches, too, and that they found a way to work through them.
...something that Hunter learns is important in a relationship.
Hunter and Jana have quite the learning to do in their own endeavor. Jana isn't a stranger to relationships (but 'commitment' isn't something she wants in her vocab) and Hunter tries to keep them away with a ten-foot pool. But when it comes to one another, they both had to learn when to give and when to take, when to push and when to pull. Add in the fact both were strong minded and strong willed, there were a number of mental and verbal battles with these two. Both were afraid of commitment and afraid of 'tomorrow', but when they gave in to what their heart wanted... My goodness, these two.
It goes without saying that the chemistry these two have was hot -- it was part of the reason both butted heads as often as they did.
The only reason why I couldn't give it greater than 4-stars (which is still a great rating) was it was missing the 'boom, in your face' factor that I was looking for at the moment. This was a very solid read, with great chemistry and great characters; I needed just a "little bit more" to make me 100% happy.
