{ about kim carmody } .
Kim Carmody lives in Australia with her husband, in a sunny little part of Melbourne that she never wants to leave. Except for frequent trips to New York, she is happy to leave at least once a year for those. She holds a Masters in Commerce Marketing and while she spent her younger years training to become a professional dancer, she somehow ended up working in the sports industry, where she met her now husband. Never a participant or spectator of sport growing up (she was too busy flitting around in a tutu), she has grown to appreciate, if not love many sports and eventually found herself writing about them too.
As an avid book lover from the moment she was introduced to The Babysitters Club as a seven year-old, Kim never expected to be able to call herself an author, but is beyond excited that she now can.
Lexington and 42nd is her first novel.

{ review } .
I've always enjoyed books where one of the characters is foreign. Typically, you're going to find that it's the guy with the sexy accent, but this is the second book I've read in the last 10 or so months where it's the female who's from the land far away -- and from the land down under, no less.
I enjoyed Emma's character.
I really enjoyed Will's character.
I went into this story with high expectations simply because I love sport romance. Everything about the genre. That said, these books either hit really hard with me, or fizzle really quickly. Lexington and 42nd really hit hard, and I so can't wait for the rest of this series.
Will and Emma were fun. I enjoyed that Emma wasn't a roll-over type female. She came to the states for a job, and she was going to try dang hard to be successful in it. She didn't have time for a relationship, nor did she think finding ever lasting love with an athlete was going to be on her plate. Emma's characterization, though, was push pull for me. Sometimes I really enjoyed her and others I really didn't.
Will fought hard for Emma; I loved his playfulness, but equally, he was an alpha through and through. He made mistakes, yes, but I felt that added to the realness of his characterization. It made the grovelling that much more enjoyable to read, too.
Definitely a solid deubt; I can't wait to see what comes next.
