It all started with sex on the beach…the drink, not…you know.

As a bartender, Mason Cambridge often charmed beautiful women who ordered up cocktails on his shift. It was part of his job after all, and he needed the tips—badly.

When Lexi Swafford plopped her pretty little tail down on the bar stool, Mason offered her a drink. He had no idea that he would soon be working with her or that he’d be letting her room with him until her new apartment was ready.

In fact, once Lexi Swafford landed in Creekview, Tennessee, life as Mason Cambridge knew it would cease to exist…because after a night of drinking away the agony of his loneliness, one touch from her would change everything.

I absolutely enjoyed going back to read the beginning of Whiskey Nights, and the friendships that this series revolve around. I say 'go back' because I started with book 3 and knew without a doubt I wanted to know more about Lexi and Mason -- their chemistry in DECEIVED was palpable and fun; they were the type of couple you just wanted to get to know.

So go back and get to know them, I did.

These two meet at the bar he's manning, and hoping to someday own, and get to know one another over Sex on the Beach. Lexi takes on a job at the bar and the two of them get to know one another.

I loved Mason's character. He's a bit broken, has some trust issues, and definitely relies on alcohol to numb it all. He does, however, have goals for his life and tries to pursue them -- the biggest problem, though, is that his goals cost money; money he's not making much of.

Lexi's role in this story was great. She's definitely the catalyst for much of the movement; I enjoyed her interactions but would have liked her to open up sooner than she had.

I liked the story's pacing -- it wasn't rushed and everything felt real. I love when two people meet and the relation progresses as most do, and Mason and Lexi's certainly does that.
