Who says a wild heart can’t be tamed?
For years, I lived for the job and let it control me. Violence was all I knew. I protected, killed, and served. My name is Blake Evans, one of the best undercover cops in the country. I thought I was about to live a quiet life on my ranch in Wyoming until an old friend showed up and changed everything. He brought me her, Hadley Rivers, country music sensation and the one woman I couldn't have. I didn't want her but she had me completely roped in.
My job is to protect her, to keep her away from some psycho who wants her for himself. However, there's more to her story than I was led to believe. I promised to keep her safe and I won't back down . . . even if I have to die trying. I can't let him have her.

First...
First...
I was disappointed by the lack of connect with the first book, NO LIMIT. I would have liked to see at least a glimpse of Jason and Aylee. And if there was, I totally missed it.
Second...
I was, however, extremely excited when Paxton and Gabrielle Emerson made a cameo (insert girly squeal here).
Ok, now that that's out of the way...
Hadley is a country superstar who has a bit of a problem, and is need of a bodyguard. Enter Blake. I really liked Blake. I loved his brand of gruff, with his smoldering looks and her grunty responses. I really enjoyed how he protected Hadley -- while it started as a job, sure, she wormed her way in.
Ms. Dover does an excellent job with suspense. I wasn't entirely convinced I knew what the ending would be, and the story wove well. The suspense, the romance, the dialogue, the feels, the thoughts... it all worked very well. Dover's writing has grown, I feel, since the GLOVES OFF series -- and I really enjoyed that series.
My biggest eye roll moment, though, was Dover's surprisingly lack of creativity in naming other celebrities. Martina Hill (or maybe Faith McBride)? Helen with her awesome talk show and affinity to pant suits? I would have liked to see more imagination there, but those parts were so teeny tiny, the didn't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.
