FLAMING HOT -- a summary and opinion

*I received a copy of this Kensington Books title via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
Publisher: Kensington Books (10/28/2014)
Series: Firefighters of Lanville, TX
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Big and bold, strong and sexy, the firefighters of the Lanville, Texas, Volunteer Fire Department know how to turn up the heat...
Sparks fly the moment Eve and Quade meet. Fear of heartbreak makes them wary but neither can deny the scorching waves of desire that leave them wanting so much more...
Paige wonders about Cort's past but she can't ignore the heat she feels inside every time he touches her. And things only get hotter when this sexy firefighter takes her to the heights of extreme carnal pleasure...
For years Kirk has kept a secret that not even his twin knows. But the arrival in town of a sexy newcomer turns up the heat and keeps the flames of passion burning all night long.

I can honestly say that I read FIERY and I liked it. That book alone gives this bunch it's 4. There were parts I was a little squinty-eyed over:

'They'd been friends for twelve years, yet Rhea was also her boss. Even if being around Quade left Eve tongue-tied, she wouldn't go against her boss's wishes.'
Ok... Stop at 'friends for twelve years'. Anyone in their right mind would be able to tell, right there, that Rhea is trying to get Eve to fall in with Quade. Rhea knows Eve likes him but is too shy to do anything about it. As best friends, it's painfully obvious, to me anyway, that that is what Rhea is doing.  And as best friends, Eve shouldn't be afraid to say anything. I imagine, then, that Rhea would then joke and push her to go lock herself in a closet with Quade.

Quade, like any person (not even man) wanting to stay in the company of someone else, is very good at small talk, even though it makes Eve slightly uncomfortable.

I felt that their story was quick and too the point... unbelievably so, but it was cute regardless.

I do still have to read FLARE... But I think that I'll like it, from the bits I've skimmed.

And then there's FLASH.

I am NOT an M/M reader. But curiosity certainly got to me and I skimmed parts, fully read others... Gotta say it was intriguing... even though it's not my cup of tea to read. However, Lynn writes it (all of it...) well.
