You probably grew to love him, as he stood by Rose's side during the years that Black was MIA, and then lost to himself. Now my friends, it is Jake's turn to find love -- the real kind, the full kind, the kind that Rose couldn't offer him because she was so far lost in who Black was.
Jake's story does not disappoint. I was drawn in from the first page, and the pages only continued to get better and better. His broken past, his belief that he can't ever be whole, nor will he find someone to complete him... He becomes so incredibly protective of Addy as the story moves forward, something that is blatantly obvious in their epilogue (be prepared to be pissed at him, but fall in love with him all the freaking over again).
I will say, for whatever reason, I wasn't prepared for this to be Jake's story. In my little head, I simply assumed this was going to more of Black and Rose, even though they were finding their HEA in Red. But after I got over my confusion, it was easy to fall head over heels in love with Jake. I loved that he finds potential in a woman who is so different from him in aspects of his life. Yet together, with compromised, they became a beautiful couple.
Definitely an enjoyable read!
