{ review } .

Like many of Ms. Phillips's characters, I truly enjoyed Kaden and Lexie. They were multi-dimensional characters that were so much more than what career they were in.

One of the strongest aspects I found was Lexie and her fears for her future. From the very moment we as readers meet her, we see the world Lexie lives in -- the love she has for her sister and the fears that she will have the same fate as her twin. They're twins, after all. On Lexie's part, her story is about growth and letting go, as well as opening up and holding on -- kind of two folded, yes?

Kade was so much fun. He's a bit of a tough shell to crack and isn't afraid to voice his opinions. He's on many a new PAs... and when he meets Lexie, he's not prepared for the attraction. Above that, though, Kaden has his own secrets that deal with the company he and his friends own and operate... and those secrets are more than weighing him down.

This story is such a far cry from Carly Phillips of Regis and Kelly fame, but I have so enjoyed her journey over the last 15 years. This newest series, I feel, is going to be one of her stronger ones, bringing out the greatness I first saw in those Chandler Brothers.
