When Jacob was injured in the war, it changed him for life. Now all he wants to do is come home to Cedar Ridge, settle in at his lakeside cabin and get some much-needed peace and quiet. But there's no peace to be had when he finds a spitfire of a woman camping out on his property. Half the time he's not sure whether he wants to spank her or kiss--or maybe both. He's in a dark place and a dark mood, and here's this wildly hot woman who is also funny and light and may be the balm be needs to soothe his aching soul.

Sophie Marren is pretty much penniless after leaving her abusive husband. She doesn't have the money to pay rent or the slip fees for docking the boat where she's been sleeping. She was getting along just perfectly until the good-looking, brooding, I'm-too-sexy-for-myself guy moves into the lake cabin that the slip belongs to. Sure he's hot as the noon sun with those dark lens and even darker 'tude, but god forbid she tie herself to another man who's always telling her what to do. But the more she gets to know Jacob, the more she sees how willing he is to battle for her wounded heart...a battle she might just let him win.

Cedar Ridge, Colorado, is famous for crisp mountain air, clear blue skies, and pine-scented breezes. And it's the last place Lily Danville wants to be. But she needs a job, and there's an opening at the hottest resort in her hometown. What has her concerned is the other hot property in Cedar Ridge: Aidan Kincaid-firefighter, rescue worker, and heartbreaker. She never could resist that devastating smile . . .

The Kincaid brothers are as rough and rugged as the Rocky Mountains they call home. Aidan has always done things his own way, by his own rules. And never has he regretted anything more than letting Lily walk out of his life ten years ago. If anyone has ever been in need of rescuing, she has. What she needs more than anything are long hikes, slow dances, and sizzling kisses. But that can only happen if he can get her to give Cedar Ridge-and this bad boy-a second chance . . .

{ CHRISTMAS novella | blog tour } + giveaway!

Christmas Novella Blog Tour: Featuring Jill Shalvis, Jessica Scott, and Nadia Lee + Giveaway!

Love a great Christmas romance, but pressed for time? Pick up a holiday novella to satisfy your craving for a great happy-ever-after. This season contemporary authors Jill Shalvis, Jessica Scott, and Nadia Lee are all releasing Christmas reads. Today these authors stop by to spread the holiday cheer and discuss how their characters are spending the holidays. Take it away ladies!

Nadia Lee author of The Billionaire’s Holiday Obsession

Iain and Jane are going to spend Christmas Eve with Iain's family, then spend Christmas with each other, exchanging gifts. Jane is sort of scared of spending the time with Iain's parents because they're so...tense. But she can't go home this year, and she doesn't want Iain not to see his family--which was his plan if she didn't go with him--so yeah...

Jessica Scott author of All I Want For Christmas Is You

Major Patrick MacLean had been planning on spending the holidays at the bottom of a bottle but since his daughter called and asked him to get his fourth point of contact to Maine, he’s there instead.
Since he and Captain Samantha Egan managed to patch things up, they’re spending a lot of time getting reacquainted. They’d spent more than two years apart on back to back tours in Iraq, so they’ve got a lot of catching up to do. They’ve taken a weekend getaway over to Sugarloaf Mountain in Eastern Maine where they’re both remembering how to ski and how to be Patrick and Sam instead of Mommy and Daddy or Major MacLean and Captain Egan.

Jill Shalvis author of Merry Christmas, Baby

Catching up with some of the characters from Lucky Harbor:

Maddie and Jax from Simply Irresistible took care of their two beautiful little children while still managing to find “attic” time.

Tara and Ford from The Sweetest Thing decorated his sailboat and hosted a big party for the entire gang. They’ve been having private cook-offs all month between the two of them to decide on the menu. Ford usually insists on a “strip” cook-off.

Chloe and Sawyer from Head Over Heels are having a baby soon, so Chloe stocked up on sexy lingerie and Sawyer stocked up vacay days to take advantage of said sexy lingerie.

Mallory and Ty from Lucky in Love have been working their tushes off. They spent their first holiday together at Ty’s place, where he got his wish for a huge storm that snowed them in away from the rest of the world.

Amy and Matt from At Last went on a trip together, just the two of them. Amy didn’t know where ahead of time but Matt did. He took her to a deserted island in the Turks and Caicos, where there was nothing but warm sun, a stocked kitchen, no one else for miles and miles, and bathing suits were optional.

Grace and Josh from Forever and a Day pulled out all the stops to make this holiday special for Toby, Anna, Tank, and … their new baby boy.

So that’s the news from Lucky Harbor. Out now is a new trilogy, and three new sexy hot heroes (Sam! Cole! Tanner!) in It's In His Kiss, He's So Fine, and One In A Million. Be sure to check them out as well, and don’t miss a holiday short story revisiting Chloe and Sawyer in Merry Christmas, Baby.

But as the snow begins to fall and the wind rages, he wonders whether he can make it back in time. While mother nature conspires to keep Sawyer and Chloe apart, an unexpected arrival will require them to kiss and make up . . . and ring in the happiest holiday Lucky Harbor has ever seen.

All I Want For Christmas Is You by Jessica Scott

All Major Patrick MacLean wanted was Christmas with the woman and child who were his family in everything but name. But Captain Samantha Egan has come back from the war a different woman than the one who left - and she doesn't know if she can love him anymore.

But neither of them counted on the determination of a little girl they both call daughter and if Natalie has her wish, her parents may have no idea what's coming for them. It's going to take Christmas miracle to bring these two wounded warriors back from the edge of a broken heart.

The Billionaire’s Holiday Obsession by Nadia Lee

Deep in debt and stalked by a deadly conman, Jane Connolly needs a job and a safe place to stay. With no one to turn to in an unfamiliar city, she can't refuse the kindness of a magnetic stranger.

A former mixed martial arts fighter, billionaire Iain Pryce couldn't walk away from a small town girl in a big city, especially when it's obvious she's in trouble. But her sweet spirit threatens the single principle he's been living under for the past thirteen years: don't lose control...

review || MERRY CHRISTMAS, BABY

I've been really good about reading my NetGalley books in order of publication...

...but after my Roman and Beth high, I really needed to read another couple that I loved dearly (....or possibly another Titan book, oh, say Rocco's or Colby's so I can get a proper review up). I've been Jill Shalvis-less for a bit now and was missing me some Lucky Harbor.

When I requested MERRY CHRISTMAS, BABY, I didn't figure I'd be approved on NetGalley. Haven't been lucky enough where this series is. But I tried, knowing that I was better off just pre-ordering the newest Lucky Harbor book that revisited my favorite couple.

But then I got the email.

Girly squee inserted here.

I read both HART ATTACK & MERRY CHRISTMAS, BABY over one night (and finished half of TWISTED LIES -- did I not mention at one point that I put away books quickly??) and both get 5s from me.

To be fair, I'm incredibly partial to both Cristin and Jill -- there's only been one Lucky Harbor book I've read that I had a hard time getting into, and Titan....? Well, Titan hasn't steered me wrong yet (the only one not getting full stars from me may simply be CHASED).

I have loved Sawyer and Chloe since their sneak peek blurb in THE SWEETEST THING. I've read their story a number of times, but it's easily been a year plus since I've last read them...

...but they're one of those couples that you remember the important parts.

Like when she's tending to her knee while on the kitchen counter and he saunters in, and when she has an asthma attack that scares the beejeesus out of Sawyer, and the ever-lovely... shower scene ;) That's a favorite for many Sawyer and Chloe fans.

So while I was extremely sad to see that Jill is putting a close on the Lucky Harbor series, I was super excited to see that the Christmas novella was a Sawyer and Chloe book.

Also? Every time I see this title, I get the Hanson version of the song stuck in my head... Just saying.

SEASON’S KISSES
Wild child Chloe Thompson can’t believe how much things have changed. She still can’t get enough of her sexy husband Sawyer, but he seems to prefer working to thinking about impending fatherhood. So tonight, a very pregnant Chloe is escaping her troubles at the town Christmas party.
Sheriff Sawyer Thompson hopes surprising Chloe at the party will give him a chance to set things right.

If there's one thing you've learned about Sawyer and Chloe, it is that they are both extremely hard headed -- and that's quite the understatement -- but they work very well together. Mix in lingering childhood fears of abandonment, and you get Chloe sadly watching Sawyer walk away to another job, taking him away from home and her again, leaving her convinced that these baby hormones are pushing him further and further away.

She starts to feel that this baby, who is now nearly nine months along, mind you, was a mistake. Not that she doesn't want it, but it was something that Sawyer wanted to wait on. He has his own childhood fears, you see. With a baby on the way that Chloe isn't so sure Sawyer wants, and her hormones making her super witch... he must be falling out of love with her, right?

Oh, Chloe... You really ought to know better.

Sawyer worships the ground she walks on. He doesn't always show it the right way... but he never has. That's just Sawyer.

This was a lovely little look into the lives of Sawyer and Chloe, and I'm still super sad that once Lucky Harbor is gone, so will these two. I'd like to put them in my back pocket and keep them around forever.
