From New York Times Bestseller Pepper Winters comes a timeless love story answering the question of what happens when everything is stripped away.

"There is a message for everything. From handwritten to verbal, seen and unseen. Messages exist all around us."

But what if you don't see?
What if you don't understand?
What if, by ignoring the message, your life is never the same again?

Estelle Evermore morphed from nobody to somebody overnight.

Galloway Oak put his past behind him and endeavored to make his fortune using his trade.

Two strangers.
One plane.
Multiple unseen messages.

From sky to island, they find neither fame nor skills can save them. Stripped from society and left alone to survive the elements, the very task of staying alive outweighs all other needs.

Until survival turns to desire.
And desire turns to danger.

This book was long. And it often felt long...

But at the same time--it was so emotionally gripping? I often just put that 'this is long...' thought to the side, falling further and further into this life that our characters find themselves in. The story of Galloway and Estelle, and those that make up their eventual family, was so beautifully crafted.

Unseen Messages had a completely different feel from the previous titles I've read of Ms. Winters'. Sure, the content was a far cry from an MC romance, but the thoughts, the feelings, the descriptions... this was a completely different world than Pure Corruption.

When the helicopter that the Evermore family, Estelle, and Galloway are on, crashes to a remote island, their lives as they know it become about survival. Days turn into weeks without being found; death happens; life happens. And in a semi-symbolic visual, they watch the years go by as the turtles come to shore, lay eggs, the babies go back to sea, turtles die...

I have to say I was incredibly impressed with this story. I did a lot of crying, but I also did a lot of smiling. The choices that are made are certainly difficult ones. They've become so used to this lifestyle that questions haunt the back of their minds; what will happen if they're ever found? Life at home sounds incredibly luxurious when it's side by side by no electricity, stars for nightlights, and having to deal with the elements, day in and out.

I was torn between a 4- and 5-star rating. I was hesitant to give it a 5 -- the story was well crafted, the characters well written... The story was deep. But it still felt long... But in the end, it was the craftmanship that won out. I absolutely adored this story, and while it may not be on Ms. Winters's radar, I'd be curious to re-visit Pippa when she was older, see how she fares and all that jazz...
