Power. Money. Control. Love.
He has all but one.
When movie star, Evan Carlson, discovers his girlfriend’s picture with another man splashed on the cover of gossip magazines, he decides he’s had enough of his fishbowl life and attempts to outrun the media frenzy his relationships have become. Driving until the road stops, he ends up on the remote and quaint Perry Island, where a heartthrob can blend in like the locals and be a beach bum as long as he wants. All that changes when Evan meets Haven Owen, aspiring songwriter and the girl he just can’t get enough of. A summer romance turns into something much deeper and Evan gets tangled in his own web of lies to keep Haven in his life. But when his ex tracks him down, Evan learns there are some things you just can’t outrun.
Is the cost of love, losing all control?

What's my deal with two deception stories for one day? Must have been my theme for the end of the work week...Granted, this story of deception isn't 100%-ly a true story of deception.
Evan Carlson, former football player, current actor, is in hiding. His girlfriend has been all over media hanging on another man and Evan's just done with the cameras, lights, and lies. He gets in his car and drives, and drives, and drives. He goes as far as he possibly can before taking a ferry to a remote island. When nothing is open, he parks at a campground and closes his eyes for the night.
When no one recognizes his scruffy face and baseball-hat-adorned head in the morning, he starts to go by Jay. He just wants to be normal. He starts to live in a little RV -- and everything about his new surroundings is nothing like Hollywood.
Haven is working at her father's convenience store. She and her father do not get along -- she holds secrets of his, and he doesn't believe in her. She scribbles lyrics down on receipt paper in hopes of someday making her words true music... not that her father would ever let her go and follow her dreams. And when Haven and her friend, Travis, have a falling out (because the damn man can't take 'no' for an answer), Travis quits the store and her father takes it out on her. Evan, overhearing the argument, steps in and offers to fill the vacant position -- both elating Haven (she still gets her one day a week off), but embarrassing her (he heard her father's not so kind words).
After meeting, Haven and "Jay" fall into a comfortable friendship, eventually leading to more. Now, unlike my other deception story for today (CAMDEN'S REDEMPTION), he will go by Jay until his past comes to haunt him... and it's nearly the end of the book that all of the pieces fall into their correct places.
This was a cute story, even though I wish Evan became Evan sooner than he did. I get the whole hiding out and wanting a change thing... I just don't know how I feel about relationships starting and maintaining over a lie...
But now that the secret's out... I'm excited to see where Evan and Haven's lives take them in RED LINES..!
...and don't forget to read the rest of their journey in RED LINES
coming February 2015
Love on remote Perry Island was one thing, but with the flash of a camera everything has. Movie star Evan Carlson has just landed the role of a lifetime, playing the infamous Dexter Red. Fans can't get enough of the sexiest, most-talked-about guy to ever hit paperback pages. Haven is in Austin working on her songwriting career, and Evan's faith and commitment are put to the test. No matter which way he turns, Hollywood keeps getting in the way.
Does realizing their career dreams mean losing their relationship? Can they survive the headlines and media frenzy surrounding Evan's new role?
When it comes to love, some lines are meant to be blurred.
